Safeguarding
We take the safety and protection of our children, young people and adults at risk as a high priority at ABC.
Everyone who works with children, young people and adults at risk at ABC must hold a current DBS disclosure (formerly a CRB certificate), as well as follow our Safeguarding Policy and Procedures.
Our Safeguarding Policy and Procedures conform to current government and Baptist Union of Great Britain recommendations:

Safeguarding Children and Adults at Risk

As a church we have appointed:
Andrew Lewis as our Designated Persons for Safeguarding,

and Babs Watkins and Alison O'Gorman as our Safeguarding Trustees.

The Designated Person for Safeguarding, working in conjunction with the Safeguarding Team, will:
- Advise the church on any matters relating the safeguarding of children and young people
- Take the appropriate action when abuse is disclosed, discovered or suspected
The Safeguarding Trustees will:
- Oversee and monitor the implementation of the policy and procedures on behalf of the church’s charity trustees
